That's right! Planning for Bacon Bash Texas 2013 is well underway! This year's bacon & beer fiesta will be on October 12th from 12pm-5pm at the Horny Toad in Cranfills Gap, Texas.

As expected, we've got tons of awesomeness in the works! I mean, we don't like to toot our own horns, but we just can't help it! We're pretty sure we've got the BEST lineup of judges ever compiled for any cook off anywhere!

CHEF NICOLE DAVENPORT
We'd like to introduce you to one of them today: returning judge Chef Nicole Davenport. As a fourth generation Texas rancher, Nicole is dedicated to ensuring the finest quality of dining for guests. At her former now closed restaurant, Sugar & Smoke, all of the food was prepared daily from scratch without MSG or processed additives and featured local meats and produce. Nicole's triumphs in slow cooking are well established stateside and abroad. She competed in the Food Network's Chopped Grill Masters 2012, was featured on TLC's BBQ 2010 Pitmasters and is currently working on a Texas cookbook.

As the only woman guest chef on the USO Kings of BBQ Tour Kuwait 2010, Davenport cooked for 5,000 troops alongside Tuffy Stone, Johnny Trigg, Myron Mixon and Jamie Geer. This adventure is currently being shown in film festivals across the country as a documentary. And, on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 8pm, KLRU aired a television special entitled The Kings of BBQ: Barbecue Kuwait. So, those of you in the Austin area, did you catch it?!

Additionally, she is working and cooking along side Adam Perry Lang this summer in a pop up event BBQ old school style smoker in downtown Hollywood in the middle of Jimmy Kimmel July 8th! They are spinning out whole cuts to the public and for celebrities on the set of Jimmy Kimmel as well as partnering with homeless shelters in LA to donate BBQ to the homeless.
