Okay, guys, this is an absolutely delicious, quick, and easy recipe using our Garlic Basil Chicken Sausage. This pizza is anything but traditional packed with unexpected ingredients. I can't speak for everyone, but I know my household craves it. I could probably make this every evening for dinner, and we'd never get tired of it. For real!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package thin & crispy pizza crust mix
  • 1 package Pederson's Natural Farms Garlic Basil Chicken Sausage sliced into 1/4" pieces
  • 1 3.5 ounce container of crumbled goat cheese
  • 1 7.5 ounce jar grilled & marinated artichoke hearts
  • 1 3.5 ounce pouch sun dried tomatoes (sun dried tomatoes in olive oil will work)
  • 1 small can sliced black olives
  • 1 medium red onion
  • olive oil
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of sugar (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425°. Prepare the pizza crust as specified on the package. After allowing dough to rise, sprinkle corn meal on a pizza stone or a baking sheet to keep pizza from sticking. Form dough into a crust. For extra crisp, bake the untopped crust for 5-7 minutes before topping.

In the meantime, slice onion into desired thickness. Coat the bottom of a sauté pan with olive oil. Heat the pan on medium high heat until the oil is shimmering. Add the onion slices, reduce heat to medium, and stir to coat the onions with the oil. Spread the onions out evenly over the pan and let cook, stirring occasionally. After 10 minutes, sprinkle some salt over the onions, and, if you want, you can add some sugar to help with the caramelization process. Allow to cook until they are a rich, brown color. (Tip: to keep onions from burning and cooking too fast, add a little water to the pan & put a lid on it until they soften.)

Brush olive oil over the cooked pizza crust. Top with Garlic Basil Chicken Sausage slices, goat cheese, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, olives, and caramelized onions. Bake an additional 9-13 minutes or until crust is a golden brown color.

Slice into pieces, and enjoy immediately.
