Okay, so, we cooked up some Tahini Dogs last night, and they were AH-MAZING! As a couple of adults that LOVE hot dogs, we wanted to do something a little unexpected (and grown up) with these dogs. It may seem a little iffy at first glance, but just trust us! You'll love 'em! Plus, look how pretty they are! Who knew hot dogs could be so colorful?!?
Makes 4 dogs.
INGREDIENTS:
4 hot dogs
2 cups red cabbage, finely shredded
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
kosher salt & black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons plain yogurt
2 tablespoons tahini
4 hot dog buns, split
2 scallions, sliced
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Grill the hot dogs over medium heat to taste.
2. In a medium bowl, mix together the cabbage, vinegar, salt, and pepper to taste.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the yogurt, tahini, and 2 tablespoons water.
4. Place a hot dog in each bun, and, dividing evenly, top with the cabbage and yogurt mixtures, scallions, and crushed red pepper.
